Czech Hotels in TV Towers
Opinions differ about the aesthetic value of Prague’s TV tower but hardly anyone can deny that it has become a landmark in Prague’s skyline, which is otherwise dominated by low, centuries-old structures. Some people praise it only for David Černý’s baby sculptures that are crawling on its pillars.
In 2011/2012 the tower underwent reconstruction and one of the cabins in the tower was transformed into a one-room hotel. Guests can enjoy a city view 70m above ground.
If you like weird hotels in TV towers, make sure to “czech out” Hotel Ještěd close to Liberec, in Northern Bohemia. [clearboth]
If you like Jested, there is a film “Grand Hotel” which is cheaply available in Czech Republic which is based there. It has English subtitles and is a pretty good film.
